Port of Tacoma Commissioners on September 16 declared a property as surplus to the Port’s needs and approved additional funds to the City of Fife for the I-5/Port of Tacoma Road interchange project.

Commissioners heard an annual update from World Trade Center Tacoma, a briefing on 2026 budget priorities, and a presentation about Pierce County’s proposal for an electric passenger ferry service pilot project between Tacoma and Seattle.

The Commission also honored Port retiree Trevor Thornsley.
